Pixma 860 a bit more than 3 years old. When set to COPY, pages emerge blank. Also will not PRINT, although it prints nozzle check and alignment tests. No messages nor codes in display window. Added: Tried unplugging printer for a few moments. Made no difference. Replaced empty 221 (thin black) ink cartgridge. No change.

Please check that your nozzle check pattern has no missing lines in the pattern (1) or no horizontal white streaks in the pattern (2).
If any part of this nozzle check pattern is missing or incomplete, please try running through a print head cleaning and a deep cleaning in the same 'Maintenance' window the nozzle check can be printed from.
