We've had a Canon Pixma MG6300 for a few years now. It only receives light use, mainly to print black & white documents, however it goes through an inordinate amount of coloured inks which is proving to be expensive and is annoying, as it seems unnecessary.
We're printing from OSX El Capitan (formerly, Yosemite), and always select greyscale printing when colour isn't necessary. In spite of this, it would appear that coloured ink is being used, as the ink tanks are still running low very quickly, and when coloured tanks run out, blacks display coloured banding.
Is there a way to force the printer to use PBLK when printing?
Any advice much appreciated!
