PIXMA ix6820 & MacOS Monterey .. Difficulty installing/opening recommended downloaded Driver

Any suggestions for installing the recommended downloaded driver for this printer? I can download from Cannon website but it fails to open. I've tried numerous times but no avail. I've also tried via USB but the software does not appear in the software download options, options list iX4000 & iX5000 (i've tried both, neither work).

Are you saying you downloaded this driver and it doesn't install when you double0-click it?
