My iP7220 says there's no paper, but there is. It seems as though whatever is trying to drag it into the print section is slipping — there are smudged gray marks at the end of the paper. I've tried different papers to no avail.
I updated the printer driver and tried to update the firmware, which is stuck on step 1 (preparing for update) and the Start button never activates. This is the second time I tried to run the firmware update — the first time, it was stuck on Step 2 for two hours so I cancelled it.
I'm on an M1 MacBook Pro running 14.7.1. I have Christmas pics to get printed, so I need advice asap.

While our Forum Community members are welcome to chime in, the Canon PIXMA iP7220 has been retired. That means we do not offer support for the printer or updated drivers. We recommend updating to a more modern printer and reaching out to our Canon Upgrade Program specialist who will go over the best options for upgrading your printer.
