PIXMA TS9520a - Rejects 12x12 Matte Photo Paper

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out to the community for some advice on an issue I’m facing with my Canon TS9520a printer. I've been trying to print on 12x12 inch matte photo paper, but my printer consistently rejects this paper type, stating that I cannot print with the matte photo paper combination. The printer suggests using cardstock instead, which is not suitable for my needs as it affects the color and quality of the prints.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Ensured that the paper settings on the printer and in the print driver are correct.

  • Updated the printer drivers and firmware.

  • Attempted to select different but similar media types in the print settings.

  • Used various programs to send the print job.

Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the issue. It seems like the printer has a limitation or restriction against using 12x12 matte photo paper.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any suggestions on how to bypass this restriction or modify settings to allow printing on matte photo paper? Any advice or workaround would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your help!

Please follow these steps:

1.  Please tap the gear icon at the bottom of your TS9520a's display.  Patrick_0-1741964281959.jpeg

Didn't work. Also I clearly stated in my post I ensured the printer settings were correct, meaning I set it to 12x12 matte paper. When I go to print from my computer it says that size can only be printed in cardstock, then an error message pops up that their is a paper mismatch.
