My ts8220 is completely locked up because of a 5100 error message. That message refers to the print absorber being
full. I have successfully cleaned the absorbers before as a result of a different message. But now I cannot clean it
because of the lockup. It is necessary to move the ink cartridges to the left to access the absorbers, which is now
impossible due to the lockup. I have unplugged the printer for more than 10 minutes and it did not help. The Service
advice is basically to buy a new printer, which I don't want to and there is no good reason to do so.
So how can I clear this 5800 lockup message?

Greetings ,
It's not clear which error message you are describing as your title says 5100 and your message body says 5800?
Here's a list of error codes for the printer.

You also mentioned a previous issue with the ink absorber. These are not user serviceable. Blotting excess ink from them will not allow the printer to continue functioning. I would recommend you review the error message and use the link I referenced.

make that 5800, not 5100

But when I blot the ink out, it DOES make the printer continue to operate.

Hi, w8erd! Not to belabor the point but there's also an error message that shows as "5B00." Sometimes, an 8 and a B can look similar. Could you please verify that for us?
We look forward to your reply!

You are right. It is 5B00.

have the exact same problem. Attached picture shows the screen and error message, blocking any action. The 5B00 error message is blocking any action on the screen. The printer is thus unuseable, which is a scandal. PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW TO UNLOCK this situation thanks.
