I just purchased a Pixma TS6520 and this is my first day with it. I’m having trouble setting it up to the WiFi and it seemed it got stuck so I tried to power it down. It says “Turning off please wait to power down” with the power button flashing. I’ve read that if it’s not off then you shouldn’t disconnect it from power until the light stops blinking. But my question is how long does it normally take to power down? It’s been “powering down” for 8 minutes and counting. Down it generally take 10+ minutes for it to fully power down or is something wrong?

You don't have much choice but to unplug from either the back of the printer or the wall. Wait at least a minute and plug it back in. Also, make sure your Wifi has a 2.4ghz signal or the printer will not see it, it will just sit there flashing.
Here is the help guide for setting up wireless connection. Scroll down to wireless help.
