I've got a TS6300 printer scanner. It's hard wired to the computer (less than a year old and running Windows 11). It prints from the computer okay, so it's properly connected. It does copies okay, so the scanner works. But when I try to do a simple scan, Scangear say's it cannot connect to the computer. Any ideas?

Greetings,
Is your windows 11 running feature release 24H2?
There have been multiple reports of this feature release causing communication issues with scanners across several manufacturers. I suspect Microsoft will address this problem but have no idea how long or when.

Thanks for that, Rick. This fault popped up out of nowhere, when the things worked fine up to now. Sounds very Microsoft to me. (Recently had Outlook go kaput suddenly until they updated it) Unfortunately my days of being interested in the technical details of computing are long gone, and I've taken to just kicking them now. Where exactly would I find out if Windows is running 24H2?

Ok, thanks. I will keep it in mind.

Thanks for joining the conversation, Steve10!
So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using within the PIXMA TS6300 series. The model number should be on the front of the unit at the lower right. That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!

Thanks and have a great day!

Cheers, Danny and thanks for putting me right so quickly. The printer/scanner is a TS6350A. It's worked fine previously, though I probably haven't done a scan for a month or so. It's one of those happy little faults you get just when you really needed to use it.

Steve ,
If you click on the start button and immediately type "winver" (without quotes) then press enter, you'll see your feature release.
