PIXMA TS3522 black ink will not dry after 48 hours

I currently have the TS3522 series printer. I am using the 100 pages per month plan for ink. However, i have noticed when printing on glossy photo paper (8.5x11) the black ink never dries. After 48 hours, i can rub off all of the black ink on the print. However, all the color ink dries immedicably and stays on. Its only the black ink that comes off.

In the attached image, notice the black rubs off but not the color. I need this fixed ASAP as we use this printer for business and we cant have the ink rub off. This is after 48 hors of allowing it to dry.....

I also tried to switch the paper type to photo paper but there are ZERO options for 8.5 by 11 inch paper.. Only had 6x4 option which is ridiculous for 2023 printer. I would expect that of a 1980s printer but not a modern printer at all.

Hi there!

Can you please check which model within the TS3500 series you are working with? You can see either on the top or the front of the printer itself, you might have to lift the paper tray to see it! This will help the Community better help you.

If this is an urgent matter, please check out your support options HERE.

Thank you for noticing that. I have edited the post

Greetings,

Typical causes for ink is not drying,

You are not using the correct paper type.

You might be printing to the wrong side of the paper or you are selecting the wrong paper type in the printer driver.

These are common reasons why ink doesn't dry.

Its the correct paper type and side. Notice the color ink doesnt smear. So its a chemical composition issue

It seems like maybe the printer is using the black pigment ink instead of the black dye ink. What software are you printing from?

Try printing a nozzle check on the paper you are using and see if the same thing happens.

Does the cartridge have both dye and pigment? Or does it just contain one or the other?

I am using the canon software i downloaded for this printer.

From my reading of the specs there is a pigment black cartridge.

What is the name of the Canon software?
