More info on my inquiry:
I've power cycled twice. Latest drivers installed: machine shows "current version 2.002". Coupled with my Win 11 desktop, the printer preferences show cassette, 8.5 x 11.0: paper; iphone print shows A4, color off. My printer preferences on the Pixma under Settings > Feed settings > cassette paper settings is confirmed to "Yes" and check paper replacement is "ON". My iPhone 12 is paired with the Pixma and communicates upon requesting to print a document, however every document defaults to the rear paper slot and not the cassette despite the printer preferences on cassette.
