I have had a Canon TR8620 for a number of years and have been very happy with it. Within the last three of four months, the scanner feeder no longer pulls the document into the printer to scan. I have to place the documents directly on the glass plate, which is not a big deal unless I am scanning multiple pages. I have cleaner the rollers as directed but nothing changes. Is my scanner kaput?

Hi Makncheese,
When you insert the document into the automatic document feeder, does your PIXMA TR8620 make a beep?
If it does, please check the feed path using the steps on this page:

Also, with the feeder cover open, please manually clean the feed rollers and then attempt to scan again.
If the paper still does not feed, your PIXMA TR8620 would require service. You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.
