PIXMA TR8520 paper jam

After printing two pages, the printer sucked back in one of the pages in the out tray and I got a paper jam message with the support code 1300.   I followed the instructions for clearing the jam but on opening the top of the printer could not see any paper to remove.  Any suggestions?

Hi, ccozewith!

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using. That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!

If this is a time-sensitive matter, click HERE search our knowledge base or find additional support options HERE.

Thanks and have a great day!

The printer is a tr8520.  I took it in for repair and the problem was diagnosed as the printer switching to two sided mode by itself.  The paper jammed in the two side paper track.  This happened to me at least once before but I grabbed the paper in time before it fully reentered the printer.

If the paper is still jammed inside the printer, please click HERE for the steps to remove it.

Also, if the printer is out of warranty, you are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Monday through Saturday, 9am to 9pm.
