My Canon Pixma printer gives an error message everytime it prints though it still works so far.  The display also says it will disable printing soon if this is not corrected but the status is Online.  Screenshot 2026-04-23 144529.png

Thanks for joining the conversation, Johnbee!

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using within the PIXMA TR4700 series.  The model number should be on the front of the unit at the upper right corner.

Also, please let us know whether you're getting the same error message each time or if it changes.

If this is a time-sensitive matter, click HERE search our knowledge base or find additional support options HERE.

Thanks and have a great day!

Are you using Canon's print service or were using it but no longer?

I'm using the ink service for $4.76 a month for 30 pages.  TR4722 model number

I had 2 previous Canon Pixma printers and one of the older ones keeps showing up to select but I only select the current one.  Could it be getting one of the older ones confused with the new one?

If that printer stops working I will throw it out and never buy Canon ever again!  This is by far the worst experience I've ever had with a printer!

It's the same error message

Did you not uninstall the previous printers before installing this one? I think you should be able to disable the printer ink service and clear the error.

Disabling Ink Service on Canon Pixma TR4722

To disable the ink service on your Canon Pixma TR4722, follow these steps:

Accessing Printer Settings

  1. Control Panel:
    • Navigate to the printer's control panel.
    • Look for the settings or setup menu.
  2. Printer Software:

    • Open the Canon printer software on your computer.
    • Ensure your printer is connected.

Disabling Automatic Ink Monitoring

  • Ink Management Options:
    • Within the settings, locate options related to ink management or maintenance.
    • Disable any features that monitor ink levels automatically.

Additional Tips

  • Firmware Updates:
    • Check if your printer has the latest firmware, as updates can sometimes affect settings.
  • Manual Checks:

    • Regularly check ink levels manually to avoid unexpected interruptions in printing.
