PIXMA TR4720 cuts off the printing on the right side

The printer cuts off the last bit of print data on the right side of a page because it assumes you need a large margin on the left for stapling. How do I disable this function? I can't find anything in the manual.

Thanks for joining the conversation, CatMan1!

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using within the PIXMA TR4700 series.  The model number should appear on the front of the printer at the upper right corner. That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!

Thanks and have a great day!

Stapling Options for Canon TR4700 Series

The Canon TR4700 series printer provides flexible stapling options that can be adjusted through the printer driver setup. Here’s how to manage these settings:

Setting the Stapling Margin

You can specify the stapling margin and the side of the document to be stapled by following these steps:

  1. Open the Printer Driver Setup Window
Access the printer driver settings from your computer.
  2. Select the Stapling Side

    • Navigate to the Page Setup tab.
    • Choose the side of the document you want to staple.
  3. Adjust the Stapling Margin

    • Click on Specify Margin... to set the margin width.
    • The printer will automatically adjust the print area based on the selected stapling position.
  4. Finalize Settings

    • Click OK to apply your settings.
    • When you print, the document will be printed with the specified stapling side and margin width.

Additional Features

  • Automatic Selection: The printer analyzes the orientation and page layout to suggest the best stapling position.

Hi DerrickL, The printer is a TR4720. In the adjustments page, there is a margin option, which is at the default of 0.0. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place, but that's the staple margin setting I see. Maybe I should specify staple on the right instead of left. I will try that.

TR4720. I tried to change the stapling option to the right side with a 0.0 margin and then with a 1.0 margin, and it had no effect whatsoever on the printed page. I still have 7/8" of blank paper on the left side before the printed material, and 1/4" blank on the right side where the last few alpha characters of printed material is cut off. The stapling margins don't seem to affect anything.
