Hi Everyone,

I'm Harmandeep Singh Kandhari, Health and Wellness Motivator. Now, I want to know about what troubleshooting steps are recommended for resolving frequent paper jams and faded prints on a Canon PIXMA TR4720? Could this be related to driver updates, ink cartridge alignment, or roller maintenance?

Thanks,
Harmandeep Singh Kandhari

All the above.

Fixing Frequent Paper Jams

Common Causes of Paper Jams

  • Incorrect Paper Loading: Ensure paper is loaded correctly in the tray.
  • Paper Type: Use suitable paper sizes; avoid A5 for documents with photos or graphics.
  • Obstructions: Check for any foreign objects in the paper path.

Steps to Resolve Paper Jams

  1. Check for Visible Jams: Open the paper output tray and check for jammed paper.
  2. Remove Jammed Paper:
    • Pull out the jammed paper slowly to avoid tearing.
    • If not visible, check the feed slot and rear cover.
  3. Restart the Printer: If the paper is stuck, turn off the printer, then turn it back on to see if it ejects automatically.

Improving Print Quality

Common Print Quality Issues

  • Blank or Faint Prints: This may indicate low ink levels or clogged print heads.
  • Blurry or Streaky Prints: Often caused by dirty print heads or incorrect paper settings.

Steps to Enhance Print Quality

  1. Check Ink Levels: Ensure cartridges are not empty or improperly installed.
  2. Clean Print Heads:
    • Print a nozzle check pattern.
    • If issues persist, perform a deep cleaning of the print heads.
  3. Adjust Settings: Verify that the correct paper type is selected in the printer settings.
