PIXMA MX922 shows error message

I'm trying to use Sonoma 14.5 on my macbook. I've downloaded the latest driver, turned the printer on and off, and other troubleshooting but cannot for the life of me get the menu button or screen on the printer to show anything but error. I think this printer is discontinued, but how can I squeeze a little more life out of it at least until my ink is all gone? HELP PLEASE...can't reach Canon help unless I spend 20 bucks that I don't have.

Greetings,

Drivers for the MX922 were released for OSX 13 Ventura.  There is no driver listed for Sonoma.  You can try installing the Ventura driver, but it may not install.  If you had the device installed and working under Ventura, and upgraded to Sonoma, it might be best to remove the printer and software and attempt to install it again.  I suggest you not try installing on top of a failed or inoperable instance.

The printer is now 11 yrs old.  It might not work with the latest version of MAC OS.  Another possible solution is VueScan by Hamrick software.  Its free to try and if it works, its less expensive than buying a new printer.

Canon also has a upgrade program for products which have been discontinued or reached their end of life.  You can contact the sales dept for more information.
