You'll need to install drivers in order to print and scan.
If you are connecting via Wi-Fi, connect your printer to the same wireless network as your computer and run the installer provided below.
If you are using a USB connection, run the installer below, but do not connect the printer to your PC until prompted to do so by the installation utility.
Note, if you are using USB and connected the printer before running the installer, you will need to unplug the device from your system, remove the failed printer instance from the printers applet (under Settings), uninstall any software from Programs and Features, and important restart your system before starting again.

MP Drivers: The driver for Canon IJ multifunction printer.
IJ Scan Utility: The software that allows you to easily scan photos, documents, etc.
IJ Network Tool: The software that performs the setup for printing in the network connection.
IJ Scanner Selector EX: The software that performs the setup for scanning in the network connection.
