PIXMA MX922 - Stopped Scanning

I have a Mac aligned to this MX922 series printer - printer purchased in June 2018/  The printer has worked great, however the scanner stopped working.  Although I just recently noticed the problem when I tried to scan a doc, it appears the issue must've arisen after the last macOS update to Sequoia 15.3.2. Now, I get the following error message:

Cannot communicate with scanner for these reasons:  - Scanner is turned off.   - USB cable is disconnected.  2.156.0

I am tech challenged and don't know how to find a driver to fix the issue, if it's fixable at all.  I guess I can't complain about the printer given its age and it only cost me $100 when I bought it.  But I'd like to try to see if a driver install will fix it before I venture into another Pixma purchase.

Hi HRGuru1955,

The PIXMA MX922 is not supported with macOS v15 (Sequoia).  You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Monday through Saturday, 9am to 9pm. Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.
