Greetings All,
Keeping this post simple, a yes/no answer will suffice: will the absence of the print head prevent the printer from turning on/powering up? In other words, if I did not place the print head back in position, would this omission prevent the printer from turning on when the "on" button is pushed? (Context: I'm attempting to isolate the seemingly "dead" response by the printer. Initially, I thought the power adapter went bad, but, after testing the adapter's output, it appears to be producing voltage.
Thanks in advance,
Eric

Welcome to the forum!
While our Forum Community members are welcome to chime in, the PIXMA MX860 has been retired. That means we no longer offer support for the printer or updated drivers.
You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you locate an updated replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Thanks, Tiffany,
I do specifically hope that a community member will volunteer the simple answer. Last, thanks for the information on the specialist program.
Sincerely,
Eric A.
