My PIXMA MX492 does not scan multiple pages now using the document feeder. It worked before but now I only can use the surface only. It also does not allow multiple pages to scan using the Canon IJ scan utility. Only 1 page at a time.

Any advice is appreciated as setting check or maybe reload scan utility ?

Hi norristowndave,

When placing the document in the automatic document feeder (ADF), your PIXMA MX492 should beep.  That is the indication that your PIXMA MX492 recognizes that paper has been loaded in the ADF.  For more information, please use this link:

https://ugp01.c-ij.com/ij/webmanual/Manual/W/MX490%20series/EN/BG/bg-loading4300.html

Once the document is loaded, please use the IJ Scan Utility to scan.

Open the IJ Scan Utility and click the Settings button.  In Settings, click on Document Scan on the left side.  On the right, next to Select Source, please make sure that Document (ADF/Platen) is selected and click OK.

Click the Document button on the IJ Scan Utility to scan:

(Windows)  https://ugp01.c-ij.com/ij/webmanual/ScanUtility/W/MX490%20series/1.1/EN/SU/Top.html

(Mac OSX)  https://ugp01.c-ij.com/ij/webmanual/ScanUtility/M/MX490%20series/2.0/EN/SU/Top.html

Thanks for the advice and answers. I checked the steps and settings but the auto feeder does not grab the paper, it did beep. Is there something to verify the document feeder is working?

Hello.

Are you using the "Document" option in the IJ Scan Utility program or are you using a different method to scan?  Also, are you using a Windows computer or a Mac?
