PIXMA MX492 - no longer scans on Windows 11 with IJ Scan Utility

I searched but found nothing current for this issue so I apologize if this has been answered and I missed it.

I had no problems the last time I scanned a couple weeks ago.  I had shut all down when I went out of town recently and when I retired and brought all back to life it would not scan.

The Pixma MX492 is plugged in and turned on.  I'm not using Wi-Fi since it's right next to my computer.  It is connected to the computer - HP Desktop with Windows 11 Home version.  I put the document on the glass and closed the lid.  I opened the IJ Scan Utility and clicked on Document and nothing happened.  After a short time an error message popped up.  Code: 5,157,69.

I've tried updating drivers but nothing is working.  It isn't even scanning when I use the buttons on the printer/scanner.  I'm hoping someone here can help me fix this.  Thank you.

Do you have ability to print? If so and you are still having issues scanning, try this.

Go to Microsoft Store and download the Microsoft Scan app and try that. Hope that helps you out..

Yes, it's been printing fine.  Thank you so much for this tip!  I downloaded and right away was able to scan.  Now that I found where to set it to save as pdf and set where to save it I'm good to go.  Thanks again.

Glad to know it helped. Trying to get help from Canon was futile and their software sucks.
