My previously working PIXMA MP500 has developed 2 issues. One is that I get an error message stating the printer head is the wrong type and needs to be replaced. Removing the printer head and cleaning off any printer ink did not help when the printer head is reinstalled. The 2nd issue is that because Canon retired this model, they don't provide any MP driver downloads. My PC with Windows 11 won't download the Canon installation CD because I get an error message stating the setup program is not for 64-bit Windows. I was trying to sell this printer/scanner but if I can't get it to work, should I just trash it? Is it an obsolete unit because Canon retired it by being over 10 years old?
