PIXMA MG3650S printing 'pale'

I have recently purchased the PIXMA MG3650S; set up was smooth and printing in black and white gives me no trouble. However, when printing in colour everything comes out pale. 

I've tried deep cleaning on the system settings but to no avail, and these are the brand new ink cartridges that came with the printer itself. Any help is greatly appreciated as I bought this machine to use for colour prints!

Are you selecting the correct paper in the Print dialog? The printer varies how much ink it puts down for different papers.

Yes, but it’s still printing paler! The test prints when cleaning are also coming out pale.
