Hello. I just replaced my Xfinity wireless router and am having a problem reconnecting to my MG 3620 printer to my wireless network. My old router was an XB6 and my new router is a XB8. I uninstalled the printer from my Windows 11 PC connected to my wireless network and downloaded the installation software from Cannon to reinstall. On Step 2 of Wireless Lan setup, I go through the procedures to make sure the blue WI FI light is flashing, but soon after it says "connection completed" the yellow alarm light comes on and stays on (doesn't blink). When I proceed to Step 3, installation of image garden etc. I get a message the printer could not be detected on the network. I reached out to Xfinity multiple times to trouble shoot but they have concluded that it should connect and to reach out to Cannon. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The MG3620, which I also use, will not connect to a 5ghz wireless network. Make sure your router has 2.4 ghz turned on.
To configure your Xfinity XB8 router for 2.4 GHz, follow these steps:
Connect to the Network: Ensure your device is connected to the XB8 network.
Open a Web Browser: Launch a web browser on your device.
Enter the Router IP Address: Type http://10.0.0.1 in the address bar and press Enter.
Log In: Use your admin credentials to log in. The default username is usually "admin," and the password is either "password" or the one printed on your router.
Navigate to Wireless Settings: Look for a section labeled "Wireless" or "Wi-Fi Settings."
Select the 2.4 GHz Band: You should see options for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Click on the 2.4 GHz option.
Enable the 2.4 GHz Network: Ensure that the 2.4 GHz network is enabled.
Set SSID and Password: You can customize the network name (SSID) and password for the 2.4 GHz band.
Save Changes: After making your adjustments, be sure to save the changes.
Reboot the Router: It may be necessary to restart your router for the changes to take effect.
Connect Devices: Once the router is back online, connect your devices to the newly configured 2.4 GHz network.
This setup will allow you to utilize the 2.4 GHz band, which is beneficial for longer range and better penetration through walls compared to the 5 GHz band.

Using the xFinity App might also work. Please ensure the 2.4Ghz broadcast is configured to use WPA2 encryption as the printer requires this encryption standard.
