PIXMA MG3620 Orange and green lights blinking alternately, orange blinks 10 times

Am running Linux Mint on my laptop.  MG3620 was connected and working well.  Suddenly have orange and green lights blinking alternately.  Orange light blinks 10 times, and then repeats.  I have tried to do a factory reset but can't.

I also use the Pixma MG3620. This is not related to your operating system. The error light blinking ten times indicates an error with the printer itself. There are two things to look for first.

1. Make sure there are no paper jams, bits of paper in the paper feed path both in the front and the back. If you find a jam remove the paper or parts of paper, then power off printer and back on.

2. Check the ink cartridges, remove them and re-install them, then power off the printer and back on, wait for it to restart. If new cartridges, make sure the contact tape is removed. (this happens more than you know!)

I've tried both things several times, to no avail.

For what it's worth, the black ink cartridge is OEM, but the colour cartridge is aftermarket.

I don't know how old the color cartridge is but I suggest to change it to an OEM cartridge. If you have a Canon Cartridge even one with very low ink, you can swap it out and see if the alarm goes away.

Thank you, for all your help, DerrickL.  I am giving up on my Canon printer.  Time to try a different brand.
