RicoWadee

I done installed every driver for this Canon PIXMA MG2525 printer. The only thing that is successful performing is the scanner. I need to print as well. When I go to print something, the paper is coming out blank. I don't understand this crap.

If anyone can help me fix this problem, I will be grateful.

Thank you

Greetings,

In order for us to try and help, we need to know the version and build of the operating system you're using your printer with?

The printer supports USB connectivity. You have to use an appropriate printer cable and plug it in directly to your computer without using an adapter or hub.

Drivers should be installed before connecting your printer to the computer.

Downloads for the product can be found here:

Canon Support for PIXMA MG2525 | Canon U.S.A., Inc. https://share.google/71vixH4WP2fiBk16n

We can guide you further once we know your operating system and if you installed drivers before connecting the printer or after?

so do you recommend me uninstalling everything and doing it over?

Greetings,

Can't be 100% sure what to recommend.  You didn't say what operating system you're using the printer with?

I'm happy to provide general guidance but can be more specific if you confirm the above.  Sometimes people use adapters and piece meal things together and then wonder why things can communicate properly.

If you connected the printer first before installing drivers, then yes...  I would disconnect it, remove it from the OS,  uninstall its drivers and restart the system before rerunning the driver installation.  Then do not connect the printer until prompted to do so.  This assumes the cable you're using is correct that there's no third-party software interfering with communication, etc.

I'm so sorry, I keep forgetting to mention I'm using a MacBook Air with the macOS sequoia version 15.7.5.

Pixma MG2525 will scan but not print using Mac Sequoia
To fix a Canon Pixma MG2525 that scans but won't print on macOS Sequoia,
reset the printing system by removing the printer in System Settings, unplugging the USB, and re-adding it while plugged in. The MG2525 is a wired-only printer, so ensuring a solid USB connection is critical.
Here is a step-by-step guide to troubleshooting:
  • Reset the Print System: Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners, right-click the printer (or Ctrl-click), and select Reset printing system. This removes all drivers and queues.
  • Re-add via USB: Unplug the USB cable from your Mac, restart your Mac, and then reconnect the cable directly to the Mac (avoid USB hubs if possible). Add the printer again in Settings.
  • Check "Use" Driver: In the printer settings, when adding, ensure the "Use" dropdown is set to AirPrint or Canon MG2500 series.
  • Check for Software Conflicts: Some users find that third-party security software (like ESET) can interfere with printing on newer macOS versions.
  • Test with Alternative Software: Try using Apple's Image Capture app (in Applications) to confirm scanning still works, which helps isolate if the issue is strictly with the print driver.
If it still does not work, it is possible the older CUPS driver for this model is not fully compatible with macOS Sequoia. As of early 2025, some users on Canon Community forums have reported compatibility issues.
