Just bought an MG 2522. On trying to complete initial start up, the orange (yellow?) light flashes as soon as I turn printer on. There is no tape or support/restrain items remaining which would need to be removed. Soon as I hit the "on" button the green light and orange/yellow light flashes. Need help!

hi,
The orange light will blink for a certain number of flashes and then pause briefly before flashing again. After the pause, could you count the number of flashes. This will help us narrow down the error code your printer is experiencing.
We look forward to your reply.

Hi,
If there is not protective tape and the ink is installed correctly but the alarm light wont stop flashing, then the printer will require service.
If the printer is in it's 1 year warranty, I recommend reaching out to Canon support for your warranty options. You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.
If the printer is out of warranty, you would qualify for the Canon Upgrade program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This program allows you the opportunity to purchase a replacement product discounted from the list price. Free ground shipping is included with your purchase.
If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Mon-Sat, 9 AM to 9pm EST excluding holidays.

I've been in IT since the mid 80's, have installed an uncountable number of printers and scanners, switches, routers, pulled hundreds of miles of network cables. I've never had this much trouble with installing a new printer as I've had with this little dinky thing. Even their plotters and other printers have been pretty easy, but this one.... This one has proven t be a challenge so far. Time is money folks so if even hints at costing you time to install just pack it up and return it for a refund and buy something easier to install and use. Personally I like the Epson and HP brands far more than Canon even though most Canons are fairly easy to install as well... but this one.... ugh! If I can't get it installed tonight it goes back or I use it as a target for shooting practice.
