PIXMA IX6820 prints al colors on black cleaning

Pixma IX 6820 will print a sheet showing all colors when I ask it to nozzel check black.  It's not printing black correctly and is just wasting all the other ink colors.  Is this a common issue?

windows 10 PC  printing a nozzel test

printing from maintence screen. no other software

no error messages.  just wastes all colors when asked to print a nozzel test

 I havent tested all three printers but ill bet they all do the same thing
