PIXMA G620 - paper just feeds through without printing

Hanko
Contributor

My G620 prints documents perfectly but when I wish to print a photo the machine just makes a wiring sound and the 8.5 x 11 Luster photo paper just feeds through without printing. I'm on a Mac using Apple AirPrint. I should add that it did print just fine on previous days but now it will not. After the photo paper passes through I'm told there is a paper jam and there is not a paper jam. Very frustrating.

Hi Hanko,

Are you using your PIXMA G620 wirelessly?
or with a USB cable?

Have you set your printer to Letter and Pro Luster?  If not, please follow these steps:

1.  Press the pliers and screwdriver button on your PIXMA G620 one time.

2.  Press the right arrow 2 times to select Feed settings and press OK.

3.  Press OK on Save paper info.

4.  Press OK again.

5.  Use the left or right arrow keys to select Letter and press OK.

6.  Use the left or right arrow keys to select Pro Luster and press OK.

What application are you using to print your image?

Have you tried using Easy-PhotoPrint Editor?

If you do not have this application installed, it is available for download from the Support page of your PIXMA G620:

https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-g620#DOWNLOADS

Once installed, please attempt to print using that application.

Patrick, Yes I'm using it wirelessly and I'm using the Canon software to print my photos to no avail. No printing software works. My Canon G620 actually worked at one time and the photo results were excellent but now it only spins, seems like it will print, photo paper then just rolls through at high speed without printing. I have looked at and checked all the settings It then tells me there is a paper jam when there obviously is not. I could go on about all the spinning noises it makes but I won't bore you. I set everything correctly in the tiny window on the machine, nothing helps or works. It won't even print plain text. Doesn't seem that one should need an advanced degree to print a photo. I have a feeling my Pixma is dead and it's not that old. Still plenty of ink in it. No more Canon printers for me. Sorry for rant but I'm frustrated having spent good money for this printer.
