PIXMA G620 - Prints partial page then starts job over

I've been struggling with my new printer.   Its been doing this since I took it out of the box about 2 weeks ago.  It will begin the print fine, then randomly just print the top quarter to half of a page, spit out the page and restart the entire job.  Sometimes it will rinse and repeat this cycle until I cancel the entire print job.   I reinstalled the drivers and it seemed like it fixed the issue, and it worked fine for a few days, but it just started doing it again.  I'm going to lose my mind cause its wasting my good art print paper!  It is doing it on both my small 4x6 art prints that I'm printing borderless, and also on plain ol' letter pages.

When a Canon PIXMA G620 prints a partial page and then restarts the job from the top, it is almost always caused by a communication drop mid-transmission (a "data buffer timeout") or paper-size detection mismatch. The printer loses connection halfway through rendering the page, clears its temporary memory, and tries again.

Cancel the Print Loop

• ​Clear the Queue: Open your computer or mobile print queue, right-click/press the active print job, and select Cancel.

• ​Power Cycle: Turn off the G620 using the power button, unplug the power cord for 30 seconds to clear its internal cache, and plug it back in.

​2. Check Data & Connection Limits

• ​Wi-Fi Signal Drops: The G620 relies heavily on a stable connection, especially when rendering high-resolution photo files. If printing wirelessly over 2.4 GHz, move the printer closer to the router or test with a USB cable to see if the restarting stops.
• ​File Format/Size Overload: High-res photos (TIFFs, uncompressed PNGs, or large PDFs) can overload the printer’s spool memory. Try converting the file to a standard JPEG/PDF or lowering the resolution slightly before printing.

​3. Paper Size & Driver Mismatches

• ​Paper Mismatch: If your design dimensions in software (e.g., Photoshop, Canva, Lightroom) do not match the exact paper size set in the Canon printer driver, the printer will cancel mid-print to prevent printing off the edges. Ensure both match (e.g., 4x6 photo paper selected in both software and driver settings).
• ​Use the Canon Driver (Not AirPrint/Generic): Generic AirPrint or Windows default print drivers often freeze mid-transmission. Download and install the full Canon IJ Printer Driver from Canon's official support site.

​4. Reset the Computer Print Spooler (Windows/Mac)

• ​Windows: Open services.msc, scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click, select Restart, and clear any lingering temporary files.
• ​Mac: Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners, right-click the Pixma G620 in the list, and select Reset printing system... (then re-add the printer).

-I have restarted the printer by both cycling it with the power button and unplugging it a few times, I checked all the power connections and made sure they were all snug again

-I have downloaded and made sure the most recent drivers are installed

-The printer is connected with a USB cable to my PC

-I did go in and restart the Printer Spooler

I printed a small run of prints and it seems to be working, but it has done this before and then randomly stopped, so I'm a bit wary.   It is normal for the location where the power cable plugs into the printer to be very loose inside the housing?  It seems like it is plugged in a connected, but the actual connector feels like its moving around a lot inside the printer case.

I think the power cable should feel snuggly plugged in and nothing should not move around at all.
