PIXMA G6020: Multiple print paper alignment issues.

Vieve
Contributor

I bought this printer mainly to use in our small home-based business to print labels for our products. I am however spending more money on labels now because the printer keeps messing up the alignment of my label pages in the paper cartridge after the first one has printed. The first page prints correctly but subsequent pages are printed either above or below the start of the label itself. So I have wasted multiple pages of labels either in blind Faith by not checking each individual page and just letting the printer do its JOB. Or catching the mess up after the first and realigning the labels in the tray myself but even doing that the printer has wasted a page of labels. And yes I have the cartridge tray paper size adjustment on the right setting. So I have started printing one page at a time which is extremely time consuming and irritating. I bought this on Amazon and unfortunately the return window is closed. I would really like it if Canon would extend a return window to me. I bought it in July of this year (24). I'm pretty sure I filled out a warranty online for this thing. I HATE THIS PRINTER!

It's a G6020 series. I use a mobile device and Chromebook via Wi-Fi to print. There are no error messages. The problem seems to be just in the cartridge tray and the paper uptake mechanism. After the first paper is grabbed it seems like the papers below it are knocked out of alignment.

Hi Vieve,

Who is the manufacturer of the labels you are printing with?  What is the product number of the labels?

What program are you using to print your labels?

I am using the Avery label making app. I have used this app for several years now. I'm using the same labels I have used for several years as well. I have not changed any of my margins or other printing parameters. It really doesn't seem like a misalignment due to print settings or the labels themselves. The first page will print correctly. Then subsequent pages from underneath print out of alignment. It's like, when the first page is picked up, the rest of the pages get knocked out of place in the cartridge tray.

But it's all right. Now that I know that I need to print one page at a time. I will do that until I can afford to buy a different printer.
