Bought the printer because Canon says it works with Linux and offers drivers for this OS; however, I haven't been able to make it work and Canon phone support told me "sorry, we do not have support for Linux".
This is what I've done:
1. From the drivers page I got the debian packages for ScanGear and IJ Printer Driver 5.90 (both dated 9/9/19).
2. "install.sh" in the ScanGear package seemed to run OK.
3. "install.sh" in the IJ Printer Driver package is aborting with errors.
Searched Google and this forum for support, but can't find relevant info. Would any of you have suggestions on how to proceed?

Update
Problem partially resolved (perhaps?)
On Linux Mint 19.2:
With this setup, I was able to print from my laptop.
I'm still unable to scan. Will update this thread if I am able to get that working.
