I have a Pixma G5020 printer connected to our home wifi network, and typically print from a Mac. About a month ago the printer began having problems completing print jobs. This seemed to coincide with a firmware update (it's now on firmware version 1.040).
Since the update, the printer doesn't always wake up when a job is sent. When I then press the power button, sometimes the job prints but more often than not my Mac tells me the printer is offline and the printer's LCD panel shows a small "x" in the wi-fi box.
The printer has also gone offline after running out of paper and the cassette being refilled.
I haven't figured how to get the printer back online when this happens.Turning the printer completely off and back on again does not resolve the problem. Usually I just leave the printer alone for several hours and when I return it's online again.
Is there a way to make sure the printer wakes up when jobs are sent, and also holds its wifi connection?

Hi lindsayla18,
Disabling IPv6 should resolve this issue. To do this, please follow the steps in this article:
