I have the same issue as this post:  https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Desktop-Inkjet-Printers/Canon-G2020-Strange-vertical-lines/m-p/35...

Since no one responded, I don't know what to do.

Hello BlueIris2,

Welcome to The Canon Community, and thank you for your inquiry!
We appreciate your participation, however, we need to let you know that the Canon Community is hosted and moderated within the United States by Canon USA. We are only able to provide support for Canon products manufactured for and used within the US market. The PIXMA G2020 isn't sold or supported by our team here at Canon USA.

You're welcome to discuss Canon products sold outside of the United States, but please be aware that you will not receive support directly from Canon USA.

The original poster may have had the model you mention, but I don't think the model is relevant here.  I've got a PIXMA Megatank G4210.

Just so that you know, I got and appreciate your reply.  However, I've gone on a trip since I posted the original message, so cannot try your solution immediately.  I'll reply again once I have.  Thanks!

YES!  Thanks so much!  That worked.

I have this same problem and would love to chat but I do not see the chat

I saw an e-mail indicating that you replied, so signed in.  I'll stay signed in for a while as I have other things to do and check back in a bit.

Just indicate what you want to chat about here.  If you're curious, the only issue I had with the link provided was that I didn't understand at first that the thing I had to clean was a transparent very thin strip of plastic -- I didn't even see it at first.
