I have spent hours trying to resolve my paper mismatch issue. Nothing seems to work. I have removed the printer, and re-added it. Problem still persists. The printer sat idle for 4 months, now wanting to use it and all these problems won't go away. I'm using imac laptop, Sonoma 14.7.8. Apparently, I don't have the correct 8.5 x 11 paper selected in the printer. I guess it's not A5; A4 doesn't seem to work either, but there's no US paper size (8.5 x 11) to make it easy. So which one should I use? I can choose US letter size on my laptop printer settings, but that's not an option on the canon printer. I'm not techy at all, but I've tried all I can think of and have searched many different ways for an answer, but have not found anything that resolves this issue. I'm ready to toss it in the trash, tbh. It shouldn't be this difficult, and perhaps it isn't, but this is my last resort to figure out what these settings should be. Maybe it's something stupid like the wrong kind of paper, but I'm just using regular copy paper. Idk.

Patrick! Many thanks! Every time I went to select the paper size, I always just went “right” with the arrows and could never find “letter size”. I just assumed that the display was starting at the beginning (from left to right) so… that’s the reason I couldn’t find letter size. Oh my. Thank you so very much for the detailed instructions, followed them exactly and now, happy to say my paper issue is resolved. Again, many thanks (cause I never would’ve thought to use that left arrow button. *smh*
