Need help with PIXMA MX922 - Weird issue with Nozzle Check printout.

On graphic print jobs it was noticed that faint horizontal lines of ink were missing.

 

After running through all the recommended steps to clean/align the head, etc. we found that the middle strip (the medium shades of both colors) of the three strips of both cyan and magenta colors were not printed on the nozzle check printout. The yellow and black strips seem to print fine.

 

The print head was also removed and cleaned as per the recommended instructions.

 

After an exhaustive search on the Internet, etc. including Canon we have been unable to find even one similar issue and are at a complete loss as to the cause. Any advice would be most helpful.

 

I have been unable to send Canon an email due to being unable to complete their email form regardless of the browser used and all Adblock extensions switched off.

If the issue persists, your PIXMA MX922 would require service. You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program.  This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system.  This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.
