My printer (Canon MP530) stopped  working with an error message  reading Check Cartridge u052.

What do I do?

If you cannot remove the error following the instructions here, most likely your print head is defective.  I had this error, and tried everything I could think of as someone who knows about computers and printers.  Getting a new print head finally resolved the problem, and the printer now works like a charm.  Total cost: $25 on ebay.

Can you please provide a link? I have not been able to find one for under $200 ... more than I paid for the device!!!
