I've had this printer for 6 months now and this has been an on again off again issue. I will need to be able to scan regularly for my new job, but only once before have I been able to get the scanner to work. I can make a copy or print from my computer, but not scan. I'm running Windows 7 and using the USB connection. Sometimes it says there isn't a computer connection, but the very next try won't say that.

Hello.
Try using the IJ Scan Utility program to scan with the unit. This can be found in the Canon Utilities listing of the Start Menu.
