My Canon PIXMA MG5220 can print, but not scan.

I have a Canon PIXMA MG5220. I can print wirelessly from my laptop. However, when I click on MP Navigator and try to scan, I get the following Error:

Cannot communicate with scanner for these reasons: -Scanner is turned off. -Scanner is diconnected. Code:5,145,55.

When I get this error, my printer is on and I printed a page 1 minute before hand. Can anyone help me with this please?
