Manually load paper in the MX922?????

My MX922 quit loading paper from the bottom tray. I'm waiting on Canon to send the warranty return info for repair.

In the mean time, I have printing I NEED to do. Is there a manual way to load a page of paper for printing?

I got an error 1008, "There is no paper in the cassette" yet the cassette was full. I opened the cassette and found a small piece of white plastic on the paper. It's about 1/8" square and must have broken off somewhere in the bottom feed tray area. I can't find where it might have come from though. Any ideas?

In the mean time, is there a way to manually load an 8x10 piece of paper to print?

Hi drail14me

The 1008 error caused by:

 1.  There is no paper in the cassette (lower).

 2.  The paper source is incorrect.

 3.  Paper is not loaded properly.

To resolve this, please place paper in the lower cassette, making sure that the photo paper or plain paper such as A4, B5, A5, 8" x 10" (20 x 25 cm), Letter, or Legal, or envelopes are loaded.

For more information regarding loading paper, please view the following page from the On Line Manual of your PIXMA MX922:

http://ugp01.c-ij.com/ij/webmanual/Manual/W/MX920%20series/EN/BG/Bg-Loading1400.html

When the paper is in place, align the paper guides with the both edges of the paper and the press the OK button to dismiss the error.

Once set, please make sure that the printer driver is set to the lower tray:

 1.  Click the Windows Start button in the lower left hand corner and then the Windows System folder.

 2.  Click on Control Panel.

 3.  Click on View devices and printers.

 4.  Right click the PIXMA MX922 and left click on Printing Preferences.

 5.  Click on the Main tab.

 6.  Please set the Media Type to Plain Paper and the Paper Source to Cassette.

 7.  Click Apply and then OK.

Please attempt to print.

Thanks for the note @James_c however, if you read my post, you will see that I've already emailed Canon copies of my receipt for return for service as the lower cassette is broken.

In the mean time, I need to print some pages. Is there a way to manually load an 8.5X11 page of paper into the printer WITHOUT the cassette for printing?

Hi drail14me

No,  the cassette is needed.  It must be loaded in the cassette (lower).  Please click HERE for further information on loading paper for the PIXMA MX922.
