Hi Canon Community.
I have an MP 640 (obviously pretty old, but working fine) that I would like to connect to my new MacBook Pro (2021 M1 Pro). Alas, I'm unable to find a driver for OS 12 Monterey - the Mac says "additional software is required - contact the manufacturer; the Canon printer support site for the MP640 says "There is no driver for the OS Version you selected. The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver."
But I can't add the printer without a driver - any options or other suggestions (besides get a new printer)?
Any help pointing me to the right place would be appreciated.
Thanks...
John W.

Hey I know this is an old thread but I'm having the same issue with my MP280. They do keep an updated CUPS driver for that printer, which is older than yours as far as I can tell, it's not a perfect solution since you'll have to go through another program but at least there's a driver for it. I'll be testing it soon.
