I'm using a fairly new MX922 and have never tried using the top tray (adf feed). It doesn't recognize that I have papers to copy from that area. What am I doing wrong? The Canon videos are no good because they don't address this issue. Is there an actual how to instructions for this?
Thanks for any help you can give me!

Hi Sweetp59!
Since this is the first time you're using the Auto Document Feeder (ADF), you might want to make sure there's no debris in there by accident. Take a look at THIS article that shows how to double-check.
Once you've verified you have a clear paper path for your ADF, try to scan again. If you're still having problems, just get in touch with our friendly support team at 1-800-OK-CANON (800-652-2666). They're available weekdays form 10am to 10pm (ET).
If you're outside of the USA, you'll want to reach out to Canon in your country or region by clicking HERE.

Thanks! After hours of viewing videos I found the problem. By default the paper guides were set really close. Once I saw that then it was a breeze! Already printed 6 pages via the adf! 🙂
