MX922 PGBK issue

vvv.jpg28379573_572028556491204_5692518769425355570_n.jpgDoes anyone know what the PGBK prints like this? It will start to print like it should, then as the letters PGBK start to print on the test page, it opens up like the eye of a needle, then as it gets past the letters it closes back up to normal print. The PGBK is the only one to do such a thing. Everything else prints normally. It is a brand new cartridge. The last one did that too. Is there a way to correct this issue? It is a Canon MX922 printer.

I have the same problem. It's not the encoder. If it was, the other colors would display the same problem. I cleaned mine to no avail. Tried a hard reset. No effect. Going to scrap it.

Hi apple2gs,

Based on your description of the issue, it would appear as though the encoder/timing strip in your PIXMA MX922 is dirty or smudged and would need to be cleaned. To clean the encoder/timing strip, please follow the steps outlined in the following Knowledgebase Article available from Canon's web site:

https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART142447

After cleaning, please attempt to print again.

I just replaced mine. Wasted time and money to get it working again.
