it WILL print if I print to 4 x 6 photopaper. This tells me that the black cartridge print head isn't clogged. All other colors print fine in a 8.5 x 11 format but NO black. Sometime ago, I got to a paper thickness setting (as I recall) to adjust photo printing so I suspect me altering that setting might be the cause of this problem. I have reset the printer several times to the factory settings so I am assuming that that aspect wouldn't be an issue. Do I trash this machine and purchase an Epson or HP? Not there yet, but getting close.
