MX892 printer set up over wifi network. Images I print from website or PDF are not aligned

Every time I try to print, the images come in misaligned blocks.  Colors appear correct but the images and test is blurry and appears to be printed over.  I tried all the maintenance options to no avail.

Hi ejm2119!

To have a better understanding of your issue, please let everyone know what applications you're printing from, and what operating system you have installed on your computer. That way, our Canon Forum members and our Subject Matter Experts will be able to assist you with suggestions appropriate for your product and setup.

Additionally, please try performing a test copy directly from the operation panel of the PIXMA MX892.  Does the same issue occur?

Thanks!

I am using 10 X version 10.8.4 on a macbook running intel core i7.  The file I am trying to print is a DPF.

On top of not printing properly, the printer insists that the bottom paper tray has no paper despite the fact that I have filled it with paper.  The only way to print anything is from the rear tray.

The test copy prints perfectly.

Since the problem started, the printer has been making grinding noises.   I have changed the cartridges and cleaned the rollers to no avail.

Here is a scan of what is printed

Any ideas?

Hi ejm2119,

Based on your examples and coupled with the fact that you are experiencing grinding noises, I suspect that there is a hardware issue with the printer.  I would recommend using the Contact Us link to get in touch with our live support staff who can provide available service options.
