MX 892 to be specific, Printer will not fully display normal menu....only error message (5011 in red bar abave the error note) that requires turning off and on then consulting the manual. I've turned off on several times, unplugged and attempted to diagnosis with printer cable plugged in to the "repair canon onscreen trouble shooting manual" and it will not respond. Internal sounds are made that seem to indicate a problem engaging swomewhere. What can I do (this all happened suddenly) before to trash my printer?

Cleaning the encoder timing strip of the printer may resolve the 5011 error. To perform the cleaning, please follow the steps located here.
