The alarm light on my MX870 printer is constantly on. The LCD is blank and none of the buttons work. This includes the power button. I have unplugged the printer for more than 10 minutes and get the same state when the printer is plugged back in. The printer was in the midst of printing a document when it went into this state. Any suggestions for getting it working again would be welcome.

I have the same issue and can find no response or result to the following post:

Just called support "that product is only supported online!!!!!!!" here I go looking for an answer.

I recommend performing a reset of the printer. While the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the printer and let it sit for 60 seconds. While the power is off, press the power button 5 times. After 60 seconds plug the power cord back in and power on the printer.
If this does not clear the alarm light, the printer has experienced an internal hardware issue.
