MX490 striping

Getting stripe lines on cricut printer sticker paper with my MX490.  Prints ok on regular cardstock. Thinking maybe too glossy surface with printable sticker paper for this machine. Works well on photo paper. Have done all routine cleaning, but still not working.  Any ideas?  Printer 3 yrs old.

I think you are correct in your assessment. Dye inks need to be absorbed into the print media. Try placing a drop of water on the sticker paper and see what happens compared to doing the same on photo paper.
