I have a old Canon I-850 printer that does an excellent job printing photos. It is starting to have problems and was wondering how the photo print quality of the MX-922 compares?

Since the i850 was released, Canon has worked hard to improve our ink and paper to achieve the highest quality prints. Our newer models have new technology for ink distribution which results in better and bolder print quality and reliability. If you thought the prints were excellent from the i850, I am sure you will love the photo prints from the PIXMA MX922.
