MP Navigator EX Ver. 2.05 uses what MX882 scanner driver?

I installed the latest driver suite from Canon for my MX882 printer on my new Windows 8.1 64bit comp uter. However, for reasons unknown, MP Navigator EX did not install. However, I was able to scan from other applications, such as Photoshop Elements. I searched for a version of MP Navigator EX that would wo rk under Windows 8.1 and found MP Navigator EX Ver. 2.05. I successfully installed it. However, when I attempted to use it, I was told that the correct driver for the application was not installed. What is going on? What version of the scanner driver do I need, and why wasn't it installed with the recommended version of the Canon MX882 driver suite?

Hi DCK,

 

The drivers and MP Navigator program for the printer are two separate downloads.  The version of MP Navigator that we have available for the printer compatible with the Windows 8.1 operating system is version 4.1.4.  Please click here to go to the initial download page for the PIXMA MX882 on the Canon USA website.  Once on the initial download page for your model, please do the following:

 

1. Verify that the operating system detected in the "OPERATING SYSTEM" drop-down menu is correct, and if it is not, please click the drop-down menu to select your operating system.

 

2. Next, please click on the red arrow next to the "SOFTWARE" section and click the MP NAVIGATOR file. When you do, a red DOWNLOAD button will appear. Please click on the checkbox below the DOWNLOAD button, then click the red DOWNLOAD button to begin the download. The time for the download process may vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file being downloaded.

3.  Once the file has been downloaded, please double-click on it to install the program on your computer.
